Celine + Mike | Couples Photo session, Langley, BC

May 21, 2020
Engagement  ·  Featured  ·  Photography

The last few months have felt so surreal, something out of this world and no one predicted would be our new reality. COVID has kicked all of our asses into a new world! Not picking up my camera and adventuring with my couples was haarrrrrd and I missed doing something I’m so passionate about.

As soon as the restrictions eased, I was anxious to get back out there and these two had been working side by side in their Vancouver apartment and were on board to do the same!

I met Celine last year while I was capturing head shots for Above & Beyond Event Planning. They put on the most beautiful weddings and are absolutely incredible at what they do! The ladies there are amazing and go out of their way for every single one of their couples, including Celine, who is their head wedding planner.

So after months of being self isolated, I kept socially distanced and they frolic’d, laughed and loved on each other and I got to capture their epic bond. We only shot for about half an hour but stood around and chatted for more than double that haha and it was amazing! The only down side was we couldn’t hug/shake hands at the end and that felt hella weird. I always hug and shake hands at the end of a session and instead of that was this weird little wave 🙁 Soooon! Soon COVID can get lost and we can go back to “normal” do photo sessions when we choose, plan weddings like we should and elope until our hearts are content!

Hopefully, soon, things can get back to normal <3

We often tell ourselves we will take the photos when life slows down or when things are easier. But what if you embraced exactly where you are right now? Even if things feel messy or uncertain there is beauty in the transition.

A solo portrait session is a chance to stand still for a moment and honour the season you are navigating. You are stronger and more radiant than you give yourself credit for.
