Katie + John’s North Vancouver Wedding

October 5, 2020
Featured  ·  Photography  ·  Wedding

This wedding day was truly a day that so many of us have been waiting for. Katie and Johns original wedding was set for March 25th, 2020 at the Wallace in North Vancouver, BC. DAYS before they were supposed to walk down the aisle they received the crushing news that none of us had foreseen, the global COVID pandemic caused the government to issue a lock down and forced them to cancel their wedding. It was crushing for many!

After months of back and forth’s and in the end they decided to continue with most of the original plans and just down size to be an intimate wedding. There were so many potentials that many brides had considered, a small elopement, intimate wedding or possibly postponing to allow a larger gathering. In the end they wanted to be married the most and did so in front of 50 of their friends and family. All I can say is it was absolutely breathtaking. The entire day was filled with laugher and joy, tears and so many timeless memories for everyone and I couldn’t be more honoured to have been there to capture this for them.

We explored the Cleveland Dam and the stunning hatchery in West Vancouver and finished off with a breathtaking sunset on The Pier along the ocean front near The Wallace in the North Vancouver Shipyard. It was what dreams are made of, for couples and myself as a photographer.

Here are just a few sneak peeks of their day and the special moments that we got to experience.

We often tell ourselves we will take the photos when life slows down or when things are easier. But what if you embraced exactly where you are right now? Even if things feel messy or uncertain there is beauty in the transition.
