Erin + Gordie’s Elopement on the Sunshine Coast

September 10, 2020
Featured  ·  Photography  ·  Wedding

I first met Erin and Gordie last summer when they were in search of a wedding photographer and I felt like it was a little bit of love at first sight haha Erin pulled out her wedding planning book and we worked our way through her checklist and list of questions to ask. She was speaking my language. If you dont know by now, I have lists for everything! They are what keep me sane and organized.

This year has thrown so many of us for a loop and even though Erin + Gordie had originally planned on a large wedding at the Hitching Post in Ladner BC with about 150 people. They then rolled with the punches and planned an intimate elopement for their big day out at the West Coast Wilderness Lodge on the Sunshine Coast (north of Sechelt by about an hour) . Small and intimate weddings are quickly becoming some of my favourite days to capture <3 They’re filled with so much love that everywhere you look its something so special.

The West Coast Wilderness Lodge on the Sunshine Coast is breathtaking!! From their large deck for your ceremony to the rocky shores of the Pacific Ocean just a few steps away, to the stunning covered decks for the evening celebrations overlooking the bay. It’s absolutely stunning and being there with these two and their immediate family was so incredible.

Erin and I have talked so much over the last year that I feel like I got to witness my friends getting married and it makes my so heart full. They’re such incredible people, Gordie’s a charmer and Erin with her bubbly and infectious giggles. Aaaah I can’t say enough about how amazing it was to be there for their elopement.

Below are some sneak peeks from their elopement at the West Coast Wilderness Lodge, Earls Cove this past weekend.

Let's freeze this moment in time, together

Hey, I’m Kate 👋 The face behind the lens and Hey, I’m Kate 👋
The face behind the lens and the heart behind every story I get to capture.

I’m a portrait and wedding photographer based in the Fraser Valley — photographing real connections, genuine laughter, and the moments that make your story yours.

What I do has never just been about photos. It’s about freezing time — the quiet in-betweens, the confidence that shines through, the emotions you’ll still feel years down the road. I want your images to remind you how this season of your life felt.

Whether I’m capturing your business brand, your growing family, or the start of your forever — I’m all in. Because your story deserves to be remembered beautifully.

So if we haven’t met yet… hi, I’m Kate — and I can’t wait to create something meaningful together this season 🤍

No cameras, no expectations—just a quiet moment to breathe it all in.

Sarah and David did exactly that. They slipped away from the bustle, stood hand in hand overlooking their ceremony site, and let the day sink in. The view, the calm, the love—it was everything.

Because sometimes the best part of your wedding isn’t the big celebration, it’s the quiet space in between where you realize... this is your forever.

Sam and Dino brought the perfect mix of romance and connection to this mountain-side session—proof that bridal portraits don’t have to be just about the dress, but about the story, the connection, and the moments in between.
