The First Steps To Take To Plan Your Wedding!

August 1, 2022
Featured  ·  Photography  ·  Wedding

Congratulations!! You’re engaged to the person of your dreams and you’re excited to plan your wedding.

I get it, planning a wedding is stressful and if you can avoid the overwhelm, then you are truly winning! Planning a wedding does come with it’s challenges, but if you start off with these few tasks to kick off planning the day, you may find you’re able to take a nice deep breath and relax a little 😉

  1. Lock down your budget

Okay, you’ve taken a moment to stop staring at your gorgeous ring (I know, its’ beautiful) and now you can really start focusing on locking down some details to kickstart the plans for the big day. First off, lock down your budget! I get that it isn’t the most enjoyable conversation to have, but it is definitely an important one. Once you figure out a general budget and amount you’re willing to spend, it will make planning the rest of the big stuff that much simpler!

2. Pick The Day!

In order to plan out location, vendors, decor … you know all the fun stuff, you are going to need to know when the big day will be! I always recommend looking at a list of holidays to map out the month and date you’d like to get married. That way, you can see if any major holidays, birthdays or previously planned events may interfere with your big day

3. It’s Time For A Venue

Locking down your wedding theme doesn’t necessarily need to be the first thing on your list, but having your venue decided on is definitely helpful when it comes to planning your overall theme. Are you hoping to get married in a gorgeous rustic barn? A big ballroom or outside beach venue? Once this is set, mapping out florals, decor and even dress code will be that much simpler!!!

4. Coordinator or Not?

If you’re hoping to have some extra support throughout your wedding process, a wedding planner may be a great option for you! If you’re not feeling this route, then I recommend getting your hands on a wedding planning book! Either option will help you through the whole process, with checklists, timeline examples and tons of tips and tricks to plan out the big day

5. Vendor Research

Researching your vendors can take time, but is something you want to be confident in when making your choice! Make a list of all the vendors you’ll need to help make your day come together. From there, you can research their work, compare costs and of course, secure them for your special day!

Starting with these 5 tasks will help you get on track to mapping out your special day!! Wedding planning can be overwhelming, but with the right support and vendors to help answer your questions, there is no doubt your wedding will be anything but magical.

The ceremony is done, the joy is overflowing… an The ceremony is done, the joy is overflowing… and then it’s your aisle exit. This moment is pure magic—but have you thought about how you’ll move through it?

Here are 3 simple ways to make it your own:

💫 The Kiss, Dip, or Twirl – Some couples share a sweet kiss, others dip or twirl partway down the aisle. It’s spontaneous joy with just enough intention to make it photo-ready.

🌸 Add Some Movement – Petal tosses, confetti, or bubbles from your guests bring color, playfulness, and a feeling of celebration. They also look stunning in photos.

🫶 Just Be You – Laugh, cry, high-five, skip, or simply walk hand in hand. You don’t have to plan every step—just trust the joy of the moment and I’ll take care of capturing the magic.

Your aisle exit is one of the happiest little chapters of your wedding day. Let’s make it feel as joyful as it truly is.
